Eid-Ul-Adha
The meaning of the festival is happiness. Muslims celebrate two festivals in a year. One is Eid-ul-Fitr and the other is Eid-ul-Fitr. Muslims celebrate Eid al-Fitr with great enthusiasm on the first day of Shawwal after the completion of thirty days of Ramadan and celebrate Eid al-Fitr on the tenth of Dhul-Hijjah.
Goes Eid-ul-Adha is celebrated in memory of the sacrifice of God's beloved Prophet Ibrahim.
One night in a dream he was ordered to sacrifice his dearest thing in the way of Allah. Abraham loved his son Ismael very much and he loved him the most. So he got up in the morning and sacrificed a hundred camels in his place. On the third night, when the same command was given, he realized that Allah Almighty wants the sacrifice of his son Ismael. When he got up in the morning, he told his son about a dream. Abraham went to a mountain with his son. When he reached there, he laid Ismael on a rock and blindfolded him so that he would not feel sorry for his beloved son. He picked up the knife and turned it on his son's neck.
There was a voice saying, "O Ibrahim! You have made your dream come true. Allah accepted your sacrifice. When Hazrat Ibrahim removed his blindfold, Hazrat Ishmael stood in front of him and smiled." There was a ram slaughtered in their place. You gave thanks to Allah.
Muslims all over the world celebrate Eid-ul-Adha in remembrance of the same sacrifice of Ibrahim which is also called Eid-ul-Adha or Baqar Eid.
Note: Be sure to include the poor and the needy in the joys of Eid.
